Long Awaited Update

11:26

Hi! It's been a while, I know. Working 10+ hours a day, coming home and doing my self care, and going to bed takes a lot out of a gal! I figured I would share an update on why I haven't found the time to blog lately, and what's been eating up my time other than work.

I started this *little* program on Beach body called 80 Day Obsession back in mid Jan! I have officially surpassed the month long hull of working out every evening, 6 days a week, and sticking with a meal plan. Man, it's exhausting! My progress has shown me little weight loss, but the amount of strength and confidence I've gained from this program is more than I could have imagined! Within a month I've gained full bicep muscles, triceps, and my thighs feel like they could crush a watermelon. Okay .. maybe not but some days they feel like they could!

So this is my version of self care right now, and I have to say it's really helping. I have NEVER stuck with a program like this before, where I take in the meal plan as well and stick with it. While doing this, it's got me thinking that maybe I'd like to try and sign up to be a coach with BeachBody. But I know me, I know I struggle with "recruiting" people, or just overall boasting about myself, but as one of my work buddies may know, I share my progress a lot right now because I feel so proud of myself. (I probably annoy her form time to time, ha!) I don't think I'll go full on coach, but I have had a few friends and family members say that somehow I've inspired them to do their exercise. Which is crazy to me! Even one of my bosses started going back to her cross fit! I love that I've been able to do that from just caring for myself.

Enough about that, I wanted to share my other self care habit I've built. BULLET JOURNALLING!

I find that bullet journalling has released the creative side back in me out again, and I love it. I bought proper pens to work on lettering, which is hard and I've not sat down long enough to practice it more, but I'm finding inspiration everywhere, and really enjoying implementing those creative juices into the journal. Also, tracking my hours, 80 Day goals, moods, expenses, all in one journal is awesome.

I hope to be updating you guys more with result photos from my 80 day obsession journey, and more bullet journalling posts in the future. I am sorry for not posting in such a long while, but my Instagram is up and running, and I am so very close to 500 followers!

I hope everyone has a wonderful Saturday!

bikini body

Fitness & Healthy lifestyle. All because of society or for me?

14:59

"I want a thigh gap." "I want to have a round ass." "I want a bikini body."
Those are all things I've heard girls say in the past, and I have something like that too but except mine goes a little something like this: "I want to feel healthy and fit for myself."

I don't need a thigh gap, I don't need a perkier ass than I already have (I have a large Italian bootay), and if I wanted a bikini body, I'll wear a damn bikini. Who said I had to be "skinny" to wear one?
I decided to workout and eat healthier for myself. Not to loose the weight, but to tone myself up and make my body stronger. I lack the most common muscles to be honest. I am not a strong physical person, and I wanted to change that. I started telling people I was eating healthier and getting an active fitness routine, and they all said "Oh, wow that's great! How much weight do you want to lose?" Or, "What's your weight goal?"
Honestly, I don't even freakin' know! I do not have a weight goal. My goal is for my BODY to feel healthy and strong. That's what I want.

And I'm not saying to girls that want to be "skinner" (whatever that is) that they shouldn't have a weight goal, because sure, that's great. But when I hear "I want a bikini body," it throws me off because no one ever decided that there had to be a specific body type to wear a bikini. Sure, I don't have one, but that's only because I didn't find any that I liked. If I had one, I would wear it. And bam, hello bikini body.

I don't know where this post was going, but I just wanted to say that if you are losing weight or trying to be healthier, that's great! Just think of it as making your body stronger and healthier, and not skinny because I think even smaller framed people hate that term. I know a few very small people and when others say "I want to be skinny," they all say "but why?" Some smaller people struggle with muscle gain or weight gain, and to those, I wish you the best of luck for getting to when you personally feel healthy and stronger.  Wow, I probably totally rambled and made no sense. So I will end it here!

I say good luck to everyone who is enjoying a healthier lifestyle, and remember, change for YOU, not because of other people. You are the most important thing, and you should treat your body as if you are proud of it. We only have one body, so enjoy it. Don't wish you had someone else's body because we are all built differently. Just be a strong, healthy version of yourself, and smile. Smile because you are all beautiful.

Have a great day!

Toodle- doo!
